We want to start announcing some of our magnificent acts & events!

First up is Dominique Larue, who we’d call up and coming if she wasn’t already HERE. Queen of the rap scene in Columbus Ohio, she has recorded with worldwide artists like Method Man and Monie Love, and her music has been featured in shows on HBO, MTV, TLC, VH1 and more. If you like jokes, find her Facebook/Twitter page, and if you like insanely fresh and #moistulent hip hop, find her at FemmeFest 2015.

Dr. D. Larue will headline at Spacebar on Friday, Sept 4. Full schedule to come.

We are in awe of what our community has achieved:

"FeMMeFest 2014 raised $9,375 for the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence -- money that has helped us advance our mission to advocate for comprehensive responses and rape crisis services for survivors, and to empower communities to prevent sexual violence. With your help, we were able to further build our capacity to achieve real policy change, including SB 316 passage, which now requires that ALL rape kits (past and present) are submitted for testing, to eliminate Ohio’s backlog and support survivors with access to justice; and the Postcard Project, bringing your voices to the Ohio Statehouse, advocating for statewide changes to end sexual violence."

-Katie Hanna, the Executive Director of the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence.

Columbus Alive mention of FemmeFest in an interview about gender bias in the scene, and all that the women/trans/non-binary persons here are doing to face and combat it.

Shout out to Grrrls Rock Columbus & Womxn/Trans/Non-binary Folx Band in a Hat Extravaganza, also interviewed. Organizations like these are vital and needed in so many ways!
